A Heart of Gratitude: Appreciating AAYP Members and Partners for the Kalangala Mission

The Kalangala Mission Retreat 2026 (21st March – 4th April) stands as a powerful testimony to the transformative impact that emerges when dedicated individuals unite with a shared purpose. In the island community of Mulabana, AAYP successfully combined evangelism, medical outreach, community skilling programs, tree planting for environmental stewardship, and the groundbreaking of a new dormitory and classroom block at SDA Victorious Nursery and Primary School.

At the heart of these achievements lies the collective effort, generosity, and commitment of AAYP members, church leaders, health professionals, donors, and well-wishers. Their support has not only made the mission possible but has brought tangible spiritual, educational, economic, and environmental transformation to the shores of Lake Victoria.

Our Sincere Appreciation

On behalf of the Association of Adventist Young Professionals Uganda (AAYP), we extend our deepest and heartfelt gratitude to:

  • AAYP Members — for sacrificially giving your time, expertise, resources, and energy throughout the retreat
  • Church Leadership and Partners, including Pr. Ogwal Immanuel (Adventist World Radio Africa President), for providing spiritual guidance and strategic partnership
  • Health Professionals and Volunteers — who served tirelessly in the medical camp, bringing healing and compassion to hundreds
  • Facilitators and Trainers — who empowered the community through practical skilling sessions in liquid soap making, bar soap production, and basic carpentry. In a special, we warmly appreciate Teacher Percy for the sacrifice in offering inspiring and educative lesson to all our children in Kalangala.
  • Donors and Well-Wishers — who contributed financially, materially, and in prayer to support the various initiatives
  • Local Community Members of Mulabana — for your warm welcome, active participation, and spirit of partnership
  • Preachers – We praise God for the great inspiration and guidance bestowed upon his Servant Ev. Ssempiira Martin. We extend our heart felt gratitude to Ev. Ssempiira Martin for accepting to minister despite the late call. May God bless him abundantly!
  • Kalangala Mission Retreaters. Thank you all for accepting to call for Kalangala Mission. May God bless you abundantly.

Your selfless contributions have gone far beyond supporting activities — they have touched lives, restored hope, and demonstrated the love of Christ in practical ways.

We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to all AAYP members who generously contributed towards the Kalangala Mission. Your support, sacrifice, and commitment have made a significant impact in transforming lives. Below is a summary of the members and their contributions:

Impact Worth Celebrating

Thanks to your unwavering support, the Kalangala Mission has recorded meaningful milestones that reflect AAYP’s mission “To mobilize Adventist professionals towards the Spiritual and Economic Development of Society” and our vision of “A God-fearing and developed society”:

  • ✨ Souls won and lives spiritually transformed through evangelistic meetings
  • 🩺 485 patients received medical care, with 10 individuals benefiting from cervical cancer screening
  • 👧👦 Children and young people reached daily through mentorship and educational engagement
  • 🛠️ Community members empowered with practical, income-generating skills for self-reliance and entrepreneurship
  • 🌱 Environmental sustainability advanced through a successful tree planting initiative
  • 🏗️ Groundbreaking ceremony conducted for the construction of a dormitory and classroom block at SDA Victorious Nursery and Primary School

These outcomes are a direct reflection of your generosity, teamwork, and commitment to quality service — core values that define AAYP.

The Work Is Not Yet Finished

While we celebrate these significant achievements, we recognize that the mission is ongoing. The groundbreaking for the dormitory and classroom block at SDA Victorious Nursery and Primary School marked an exciting beginning, but much work remains to complete the infrastructure.

Continued support is needed to ensure:

  • Construction progresses smoothly and without unnecessary delays
  • The facilities are completed to a high standard
  • Learners gain access to safe accommodation and conducive learning spaces

Why This Project Matters

This initiative is more than bricks and mortar. It represents a lasting investment in the future of children and the entire Mulabana community by:

  • Providing safe and stable accommodation for pupils
  • Reducing long, risky daily journeys to school
  • Creating an environment that supports improved academic performance and overall well-being
  • Strengthening access to quality education in an unreached island community

A Call for Continued Support

We therefore humbly call upon all AAYP members, partners, churches, and friends of the mission to sustain this important work. Let us not stop at the groundbreaking — let us see the full vision realized.

Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us closer to completing the dormitory and classroom block and extending lasting impact across Kalangala’s islands.

Together, We Move Forward

The Kalangala Mission has clearly shown that when Adventist professionals unite in faith, service, and purpose, we can create meaningful and sustainable change. As we press forward, may we continue to embody AAYP’s values of teamwork, transparency, accountability, innovativeness, and quality service.

Conclusion

Once again, we extend our profound appreciation to every individual who contributed to the success of the Kalangala Mission Retreat 2026. Your support has brought healing to bodies, hope to hearts, skills to hands, and transformation to communities.

Thank you for being part of this divine assignment. Together, with God’s guidance, we will continue building a God-fearing and developed society — one mission, one community, and one life at a time.
